The international design conference DesignTalks will be held on May 6th 2026 in Harpa,

Reykjavík during the Icelandic design festival DesignMarch.

Connections will weave their way throughout the programme in tune with this year’s theme of the

DesignMarch festival. A timely reflection on the fundamental human need for connection in an era of

both hyperconnectivity and disconnection.

This year’s confirmed lineup includes the award winning Icelandic graphic designer Hjalti Karlsson

co-founder of Karlssonwilker, who combines minimalist design with storytelling and human-focused

approach to space and communication. Renowned designer, creative thought leader and two time

Grammy winner Stefan Sagmeister, who often talks about the large subjects of our lives like

happiness or beauty, how they connect to design and what that actually means to our everyday lives.

One of Scandinavia’s most prominent architects Dorte Mandrup will also be joining. Internationally

acclaimed for forming architecture that deeply engages with the context, her studio employs an

artistic, humanistic, and scientific approach to form designs that enhances the awareness and

experience of each place.
